Legalize Pot: Save Lives
Cash Flow Chart for marijuana in CANormally here on Ganjarama we like to discuss things tht aren't important to anyone. But today we are putting down the pipe to discuss some serious by-products of our crappy weed prohibition. Yesterday, 16 people were killed in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. This town has been a war zone over the last few years as gangs, law enforcement and cartels battle for control of the entryway where millions of dollars of drugs enter the United States. It is estimated that half of the drugs coming in is marijuana. I guess you could argue that all the Americans who choose to smoke pot are to blame, but I would argue that the law does not represent the American patterns of life. We had prohibition with our favorite drug, alcohol, and that didn't go well at all. In fact, it fueled two things I find totally insulting, the Mafia and NASCAR, so thanks for that.
The only thing fueling these murderous cartels is drug money. If we vote to legalize it in November, we will instantly kill half of the income these cartels cout on, millions of dollars. Granted, the other half is cocaine and heroin, but not even the stoners at Ganajarama can support that. The prohibition of pot is creating needless violence and imprisonments. Let's legalize it and remove the revenue stream for these gangsters and savages. But what about the dickhead Republicans? Well, fuck em. I know they think Mexico's problems are deserved like all problems we dump on third-world nations full of brown people, but this one is really ignorant. These cartels are exactly the ones that the GOP should hate and the GOP should want to take away their money. The GOP should also have interest in boosting the economy of California, but they can't sell out their God Ronald Reagan.
I've already covered this on another blog, complete with diagrams. People say weed is 'bad' but it's no worse than alcohol, arguably less damaging to the family unit. It's a matter of shifting the perceptions. Maybe the tax money will help to do that. Legitimize Farmers, Open Shops, End the Murders in Mexico, VOte for it in November. Or don't, I'll still get mine, which comes from Humboldt, by the way (no dead Mexicans on my herbs).
